on saturday night we brought the kids to roger williams park zoo for there annual {jack-o-lantern spectacular}. we started the night off by heading to providence and getting an early dinner at {geppetto's pizzeria}. it was yummy. then we headed to rwp for the "pumpkin thing". we got in line at 6:30 PM. we got in to the actual pumpkin area at 8:00 PM. the kids were so good. not like the family behind us who insisted on singing sponge bob songs ala "ripped my pants" and banging into me the whole time. by the time we got into the pumpkin trail everyone was tired. "it better be worth it" kept running through my head.
my sister and nieces were actually there unbeknown to me. i ran into them in the parking lot. they were waaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of us in line and once they got in they started sending me pics. it certainly looked like it was worth the wait. they stopped for a break at one point and we caught up to them for a few minutes. what a nice surprise it was to see them. :)
here are some of the pumpkins. disclaimer....i did not "carve" these pumpkins. i just photographed them.
to my surprise they had christmas themed pumpkins complete with trees donned with lights and fake snow falling. now you don't know this about me yet but christmas is my all time favorite holiday ever. i love everything about it. everything.
it's only the boys in that last picture because the girls passed out right after meeting up with the cousins. so you know, about ten pumpkins in.
angry birds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at the end they had a tribute of sorts to some of the people that passed away this year.
it was a good time. not something i would want to do every year as it was stressful waiting in line and then keeping track of four kids in the dark but we will be back someday.
Awesome pics! We were going to go but then I read that the lines could be long on a Saturday night. Who woulda thunk it. :) Two hyper 5 year olds is not a good time while waiting. But I feel like I've been there with your photos! Thanks!
