last weekend we were in yarmouth for a family party. we happened to drive by a dairy queen. we had some time to kill, and it's on our {summer bucket list} so we decided to have ice cream for lunch! kind of. we had ice cream before lunch is more like it. :)
i have great memories of dairy queen from when i was a kid. we used to go to the one in marshfield all the time. that one is a bit different. it's just a walk up. there's no inside seating and it was always soooooo busy. often our nana would run over there and get dilly bars for everyone. i wanted to share that with my kids. but it was different. and that's ok. my kids have a dairy queen of their own right here in town. it's called kool kone and it is to them what dairy queen was to me. walk up and all.
here are some pics. it was delicious. i had a tropical blizzard. my favorite!
the kids got cherry dip cones and bay got a frozen hot chocolate.
we all had a great time. lisa and i may have gone to another dairy queen this week. which is funny cause there really aren't any near us. we had to travel for work and saw the sign. how could we not?
and you know what? i'm probably gonna have it again next week when i see a special friend. :)
Our local Dairy Queen closed over the winter. How terrible is that? Cal gets a cookie dough blizzard and I get a (malted) butter finger blizzard. We have a local ice cream joint we can go to, and I love that place, but no Dairy Queen? No good. I love those pics of you and your kids. xo
