{Snuggle Wuggles}

Our babe is going to be five next month.  Does that mean she's not quite a babe anymore??  As we were cuddling this morning, or snuggle wuggles as we've started calling it, it hit me.  "It" being the fact that she won't want to cuddle with me soon.  She's growing up.  Sure the other kids still snuggle with me but it's not a daily need like it is for her.  Soon she won't be small enough to curl up on me.  She won't be able to sit on my lap when I'm at the computer and rest her chin on my shoulder to watch TV.  She'll just physically be too big.  Soon she won't want to pretend that she's my baby kitty and that I'm her mommy kitty.  She won't nuzzle my face with her cheek and Meow.  My heart breaks for that day but at the same time, I'm excited to see the big girl that she's becoming.

For now, I'm going to snuggle wuggle as much as I can.

{the potty training regression}

you know what sucks about potty training?  the regression...you know...when they start pooping everywhere.

we're in that phase it seems.  last night while my sweet demon child was in the tub she mentioned that she had to poop.  lisa asked her if she already had.  she said no.  end of story.

i didn't know this happened.  i was out clearing my mind walking cause my love rocks.  later on, i reached in to drain the tub and I TOUCHED THE POOP.

how?  i know right?  why would i just reach in and grab on to the big mushy poop in the tub?  who does that??????  well we use oatmeal in our baths around here so the water was cloudy.  and full of poop.  who knew?  as i reached in, i thought it was a big clump of oatmeal that hadn't dissolved because that is mushy too.  i actually picked it up and moved it away from the drain.  right??  and then i smelled it.  i stood there watching the tub drain......

that wasn't poop.  it couldn't be.  how could she poop and lisa not know?  wouldn't there be poop on her when she got out?  hmmmm i think i can see it.  but i'd be able to see the oatmeal too.  that's darker than the water,  right?  no.  definitely poop.  right?  i think so.  smells like poop.  {yes, i smelled my fingers}  definitely poop.  don't yell.  just wait.  it's getting darker.  maybe it's not poop.  i shouldn't yell yet.  but it's got to be poop.  it's got to be.  how is it poop?  how did she poop in the tub???????????????  yup.  poop.  isobel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gross.  cut to today.  mommy, mommy, i have to poop!  ok, let's go.  so she sits on the potty and nothing happens.  this happens sometimes.  so she got down to play some.

five minutes later....

mommy, mommy, i have to poop!
ok,  go get on your potty.
ehhhhh, i don't have to right now.
isobel, please don't have an accident.
i won't!
ok.......

two minutes later after running from her room, to the living room and back to her room......

mommy i think i had an accident.

damn.

{the way i view....motherhood. for real life this time}

i didn't get my post together before i left for vacation.  which isn't a big deal unless you're part of a {circle}.  i tried not to break the circle this month by leaving {this} post so at least i was linked to my next person.  sorry {clair} for being late!

what i had envisioned for this month didn't happen.  but i love the shots i got.  i could on for days about the joys and challenges of being a mom.  i'm sure all of us moms could.  i knew as soon as i saw this topic that i wanted it to be about lisa.

lisa is a fantastic mother.  i don't know how in the short period of time that we've been together she's been able to transform from singledom to wife and parent.  she's amazing.  it was really hard for her at first.  not only did she not become a mother the traditional way, she got smacked with four kids at once with varying stages of whiny and difficult.  remember when you brought that newborn baby home and the fear you had?  what if he doesn't like me?  what if i'm a bad mother?  what if i can't do this?  multiply that by four and add in kids that already had their "parents" and are old enough to have their own opinions.   she handled it all with grace.  and now, now she's a pro.  she tells me that she's learned how to be an awesome mom from watching me, but i learn from her every single day.

we talk about it often.  about her transformation.  about the difficulties she faced.  and now, she doesn't worry about whether or not they'll like her.  she doesn't worry about not being able to do it.  she does worry about being a bad mother i'm sure.  i think we all do no matter what deep down inside.  which in turn is what makes us awesome moms.  right?!  :)  now she worries about how they are doing in school.  she worries about whether they are getting the right food and whether or not they are healthy.   now, when we are at disney without them, she cries because she misses them and wishes they were there too.  {shhhhhh.   i didn't tell you!  it's a secret.  pinky promise?  ok good.}

now, she is a mother.  welcome to motherhood my love!  i wrote in my mother's day post about how they are the luckiest kids in the world because they have three moms now and they truly do.  lucky dogs.

here are a few pics i took yesterday.  i'm not even sure she knew what i was doing but i love watching her play with the kids.  they played memory, then she went over bay's homework folders with him {this is reason enough to love her and worship her forever, trust me} and then she practiced math facts with bay and chloe.  perfect.  :)
