{the great salsa fight of 2012}

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say "of 2012" because if there is another great salsa fight, someone is getting punched.  just sayin'.

i'm also gonna tell you all before you read this that i love lisa.  so much.  but she is a pain in my ass.  as i am to hers.  we fight.  but it's a healthy fight.  we make up and talk about it and hopefully there won't be a next fight about the same thing.  people fight.  get over it.  ;)

so here goes....

last week i texted lisa about wanting nachos for dinner.  it went something like this....

simple enough huh? get meat, salsa, cheese and chips. k. so i got those things and went home. lisa had gotten home before me. i placed the bags down on the table...

l: i can't make nachos with that salsa. i guess i'm not eating. that's the wrong salsa.

m: why is it the wrong salsa?

l: cause it's not the right one.

m: yes. i understand it's not the right one. why is it the wrong one?

l: that's not the one i get.

m: i didn't realize you got the same one everytime. i didn't notice.

l: what else is new? after living together for so long you'd think you know what kind of salsa i like.

m: well i got the mild cause i know you don't like spicy stuff and i got the bigger jar so we'd have more.

l: how can you screw up salsa? how many kinds of salsa are there anyway?

m: THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT KINDS OF SALSA! HAVEN'T YOU BEEN DOWN THE SALSA AISLE????!

l: THE SALSA AISLE? YOU GET THE SALSA FROM THE CHIP AISLE. THERE IS ONE KIND OF SALSA IN THE CHIP AISLE.

m: i can't believe we are fighting over a f'ing jar of salsa!!!!!!!!!!

l: i should have just done it myself.  now i know. i don't know why i haven't learned yet.

m: i know. i'm good for nothing. i don't do anything right. you're right.

at this point lisa came up to me and hugged me and apologized for being an ass. we then joked about the salsa all night long. right at bed time i turned to her and said....

m: seriously, why is it the wrong salsa? what don't you like about it?

get ready for it....

l: i don't know. i've never even had that salsa.

m: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME????? I'M GOING TO PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE NOW!

so there. we fight. just like everyone else. then we get over it and laugh for hours and then one of us says something ridiculous.

now i know this fight seems a bit one-sided. but let's remember, i'm the one telling the story. i'm sure lisa would tell it differently. {also, i'm always in the right. ;)}

so, do you always get the same salsa or do you mix it up? and where do you purchase your salsa from? the chip aisle or the salsa aisle?

{tv shows...my opinion}

or at least, i must watch.  lisa and i have been watching some new shows this season.  we have two very favorite front runners.  as we get into more of them, i'll share those too.

i kind of hate new tv.  i'm not a big fan of change in general, but with new fall tv you just never know.  i always love the shows that don't make it.  do you remember.....

men in trees?!!!!!  {36 episodes}
men in trees
according to IMDB, MIT was a show about.....
A relationship-advice guru, upon learning that her fiancé is cheating on her, decides to stay in a small town in Alaska, the most recent stop on her book tour. It's in this remote town, where the ratio of men to women is ten to one, she realizes she can truly learn about the subject she thought she knew so well -- how to find, and keep, a good man.

it was great.  anne heche was wonderful.  it was a very pretty show.  the artist in me loved it.  it was dark and dreary.  foggy and perfect.  and it was "set" in alaska.  so cool.  and who can forget when patrick's {Derek Richardson} hand got stuck in the condom machine?!!!  funny stuff.  plus, jack {james tupper} was some pretty eye candy.  :)

pushing daisies?!!!!  {22 episodes}
pd
according to IMDB, PD was a show about.....
A pie-maker, with the power to bring dead people back to life, solves murder mysteries with his alive-again childhood sweetheart, a cynical private investigator, and a lovesick waitress.

this show was beautiful.  period.  the colors were ahhhhhhhhmazing.  seriously.  it was an eye orgasm watching it every week.  the story line was enough to keep me enticed, but the colors.  the colors brought me back wanting more.  chuck {anna friel} was cute.  and i liked olive {kristin chenoweth} before she was that annoying girl on glee.

now on to the new stuff.  a few of our favorites this season are....drum roll please......

pan am!!!!!!!
according to IMDB, pan am is......
Period drama about the pilots and flight attendants who once made Pan Am the most glamorous way to fly.
pan-am-tv-show-300x200
we've been excited about this one since the previews.  it's awesome.  i can't even explain why i like it so much.  maybe because i've always though the life of a flight attendant was exciting and fabulous.  i just don't know.  but it does have christina ricci {as maggie} so how could it not be awesome??!  we've only seen the pilot so far and i wish we hadn't watched it yet.  next sunday is soooooooo far away!

2 broke girls!!!!!!!
2%20Broke%20Girls2-20110518-169
according to IMDB, 2bg is......
nothing.  they have no description.  jerks.

we love 2bg because it's funny.  like super funny.  like incorporate-the-funny-things-into-your-vocabulary-so-you-can-be-funny-too funny.  we've seen two episodes and we are in love.  since IMDB sucks i'll tell you what i think it's about.  max {kat dennings} works at a diner in nyc.  she hates it there and loathes the customers but makes yummy cupcakes.  caroline {beth behrs} gets a job at said diner.  her father ripped off all of nyc and she lost all her money and her house.  she ends up living with max and the funny ensues while they try to earn enough money to open a cupcake shop.

we also like up all night. with christina applegate.  but i'll save that one for another day.  :)

so there you have it.  the two best new shows on tv.  according to me.  i'm all that matters, right?!!!!!

{don't mess with her mac & cheese}

this girl is nuts.  period.  cute, but nuts.  these are from back in may while we were in florida.  you too can create her stylish hair do.  just plaster a whole lotta sunblock in your hair and then mix in a little mac & cheese.  ;)

i'm cute. look at me!

it's just plain awesomesauce!....

I've started a new common post called "it's just plain awesomesauce"! i see stuff {mostly at target cause i spend ALL of my life there} all the time that just rocks. so now, i'm going to smush it all on you!
you can see the last installment here!

this installment consists of the second best shirt ever. it's for smaller boys so there's no way it will even fit the left side of me but if it were women's i'd be wearing it right now. i'm still not convinced i don't need it. maybe i can make something out of it....right?!?!

the best part, besides the comedy of it, it's scratch and sniff! yes! you heard me right. scratch and sniff. so you can smell like cookies all day. {not sure if this is a good thing for my ass or not}.

it's those darn cupcakes again.

we love us some cupcake charlie's...it's no secret.  a few weekends ago we went and saw Cars 2 and then got cupcakes.  isobel and i loved the first half of Cars 2.  lol.  it was her first movie and she did very well.  i didn't mind having to take her out of the theater.  then lisa and the kids enjoyed the whole movie.  while i was in the parking lot with izz, that pesky cupcake charlie's fod (flavor of the day) post came into my fb newsfeed.  well the fod in mashpee was bananas foster.  whuck???  omg.  i n.e.e.d.e.d. one.  thankfully lisa is very understanding of my fat girl tendencies and humors me always.  so we were off.  prepare yourself for some of the yummiest looking cupcakes ever.  :)

here is a shot of my bananas foster cupcake. i was longing for this cupcake because i LOVE bananas foster. i remember visiting my family in oregon with my mom when i was 15. we travelled down the oregon coast to the oregon aquarium. that night, we were at the hotel and i got asked if i wanted to go to dinner with the adults. ummmmmm yeah. food. so i went and for desert i got bananas foster. they came over to the table and made it in front of me. fire and all. it was to this day the most delicious thing i've ever eaten. so this cupcake, brought me right back and it was deliciously awesome.

here are some pics of the kids and their respective cupcakes.

the most precious part of the day may have been this.....

or quite possibly this.....

it's mean to call people stupid, right?!

what if they really, really deserve it????? i had to go to lowe's today to buy wood for our smore's campfire. i'm not sure if you know this about me or not but i'm not really the kind of girl that goes to lowe's. i have no idea where the wood is. when i don't see it outside, i decide to go in and ask. so i go into the store and head towards the most people. the first employee saw me coming with my lost look and ran away. so i kept going. the next employee i ran into was a cashier. she was standing leaning against the register playing with her cell phone. in her defense, she was very nice. i asked her if they had wood (made for campfires so i wasn't sent to the lumber yard) and she sent me to the seasonal department. she also told me that she wasn't sure if they had any left because of the "season". apparently lots of people camp in the summer....whuck?? i had no idea.

wood2
this is the type of wood i was looking for. :)

so, i head to the seasonal department and ask the first person i see for the wood. she let me get through my whole speech about camp wood and told me that she was a plant vendor. she told me i had to find someone with a red vest (instead of her tan one). fair enough. i work in retail, i understand vendors. however, this hasn't helped with my frustration at all. i move along. straight to the register. finally. the woman that actually for sure works in this department must know where the wood is. so i say to her "hi! do you know if you have any camping wood left?" all common sense would tell you that she MUST know where it is. right? well this is what she said to me. "i don't know. have you bought it before? do you know where it is?" WHUCK???? (in case you didn't know, whuck = what the f**k. i borrowed this phrase from some awesome mommies over at http://www.rantsfrommommyland.com). ummmmmmm. no. if i had purchased it before, i would certainly not be talking to you. she then continued to tell me that she thinks it might be over there somewhere and pointed to the right side of the seasonal department. I headed that way. by MYSELF to look for the wood. of course it was not over there. it ended up being on the opposite side of the department. all while i was looking i heard her ask someone else if they knew where the wood was. so i assumed he worked there as well. when he continued to talk to her about japanese maple trees, i got frustrated only to figure out that he didn't actually work there. seriously lady? really? for real life? when i came back to purchase the wood she greeted me with "oh, you found it? good!" uh huh. i did. she then asked me if the other (actual) employee she asked came over and told me where it was. i told her no. she then responded with "oh well, no biggie". my response had i just spoke my mind would most definitely have been "you're right. no biggie. now give me the portion of your paycheck that i just earned". no it's no biggie.

Stu-pid
(stoo-pid)
adjective, -er -est

1.  lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.
2.  characterized by or proceeding from mental dullness; foolish; senseless:  a stupid person.
3.  tediously dull, especially due to a lack of meaning or sense; inane; pointless:  a stupid party.

after all was said and done, i got my wood. (that's what she said). we had a little campfire and toasted marshmallows. that post will be coming up soon! :)

kids say the darndest things...

we had so much fun this weekend! we went to a movie, got a treat and went somewhere else ultra cool. i'll share those later. for now, here are some awesomesauce things my kids have said to me.

i used to keep a little word document with all the hilarious stuff the kids say. i swear, someday when i write my life story there will be a chapter specifically designated to the gut wrenching things that come out of their mouths. here are some that i have saved...

End of August 2010.

Me…ian, do you have hugs for me?
Ian…no mommy I left them in the mountains.
Me…well then we’ll have to go back and get them.
Chloe…mommy, I left your hugs and kisses at disney world.

- clever of her huh?

9/1/2010
bailey to me while getting my camera out to take a pic of him on the first day of middle school…(the stalker lens was on) “oh, you’re busting out the big guns huh?”

- poor kid.

and lastly this is from bailey. weird for sure. i'm not sure when this was but it was in his wrestling days so it must have been 2005/2006.

I remember being in your belly.
It was gross.
But you were nice to me by eating couches.
So I could sit on it.
And you ate tvs,
So I could watch wrestling.
It was cool.
I didn’t want to come out because nobody told me what to do.

and what post would be complete without a pic?!
