{Black Friday}

How was your BF? Did you go out and shop? Did you wait in line somewhere for hours for a crappy tv? lol. I worked. For those of you that may not know, I work security at Target. My store didn't open until 1AM due to some old Blue Laws on the book in my state so I reported to work at 12:01 AM.

I worked the line outside and gave them all the rules and whatnot. It's called Crowd Control. Every single Target store has to put a very detailed plan in place about how they are going to keep everyone safe. We do not want incidents like that other big box retailer. Eh hem. We really do put everyone's safety over the sales. In fact, if you're acting unsafe, you leave and do not purchase whatever you came in for. Period.

My team got 567 people into the building safely at opening without a single incident. So with all these BF horror stories, please know that it is in fact safe to shop at some stores. I don't know why you'd want to wait in line in the freezing cold for ten plus hours to save a couple of hundred bucks on a tv, but so be it. ;)



P.S. I did make it through all of nablopomo. I definitely cheated a bit and back scheduled things, but the point is I wrote something for everyday in November. I'm hoping this will get me back into my blogging groove.

{insta-friday...black friday}

today is black friday.  for some of you that may mean nothing.  for some it's the day you go wait in line at an insane time for a silly tv or gasp crock pot.  for me it means going into work for midnight on thanksgiving night to work so that you can get your silly items.  :)

now i'm not really complaining per say.  bf is my favorite day of all year to work in retail.  i just wish it was still a friday thing.  there's really no need to open on thanksgiving day to sell some tvs  and iPods.  for reals.

but their cupcakes came home with us and they were heavenly.

we went to the disney outlet.  heaven on earth.

i'm loving this song.  it's awesome.

my boy had a grandparent's day at school.  none of his grandparents live close enough by or were available so he got to pick someone special.  guess who he picked?!  :)

they sang for us.  we made a thanksgiving bracelet and we took pics of each other.

he made a cute place mat too.

on thanksgiving i didn't take many pics.   but i did grab these two that struck me.  the teenagers they're becoming.

it's on!  well, it's over now.  but it was on.

i was super excited about the infinity scarves.  this beauty cost me $8.  score.

{insta-friday 11/25}

today's insta-friday is black friday.  since i work for a big box retail store my life this week has been about preparing for black friday.  i'm going to start with those pics and kind of work my way backwards....it will be ok.  i promise.  :)  although i'm gonna go back to the middle of the week and then work my way to today and then go back to the beginning of the....oh crap you know what?  let's just start at the beginning.  :)

last friday night we had a team outing at work.  we went to a providence bruins game.  it was fun.

i wore my cute necklace this week....

on monday we went to lisa's mom's house to inventory what we already had for the kids for christmas. we read the paper and looked at some catalogs too.

then we were off to target where we did *almost* all of our shopping for the kids. and when i say almost, i mean like 99.9%. oh and we also had some hot chocolates with whipped cream and cinnamon. yummy!

we went to chilis and got take out for lunch. i took these while waiting for the food.

i really wish we had been able to go to this. it would have been epic. ;)

chloe had a thanksgiving event at school. it was super cute.

ian made a potato pumpkin at school.

now on to black friday. i could bore you with everything we did at the store to keep people safe this year but i won't. i'll just share the few pics i have of our line. this year we had about 900 people in line. which was a crazy huge amount. to put it in perspective, last year we had about 350 which was the most we had had before. everyone was polite and well behaved for the most part. NOT like over at another store in our plaza. rumor has it that he threatened someone that cut him with a gun. really????! you wanted that tv that bad????! i'm pretty sure they don't have good deals on flat screens in lock up at the local pd. just sayin'. ;)

this am i got home, napped for two hours and dragged the kids to the coffee shop. i was in my pajamas with my rockin' hat. don't be jealous.
