{Living in the Moment...July}

This week we finally accomplished something on our summer Bucket List. We made S'mores outside. Except we didn't. We toasted marshmallows though! No chocolate cause the girls don't eat or drink anything with milk in it. I'm cheating and using these as our final installment of Living in the Moment as well. I can't believe it's been a year already. I will link to all the other months below.

I truly did live in the moment during these pics. They aren't perfect. Far from it. I even turned on my ON CAMERA FLASH. The horror! I know! But it was so much fun and the marshmallows were delicious especially the on fire ones. ;)






























This year was a great experience for me.  It taught me to not care if there was too much grain and blur in my photos.  To not make my kid change his black socks and boat shoes.  It reminded me that the bikes and yoga mats could stay in the background.  And most importantly that the little one can be grumpy if she wants to be.  It's all about what's going on in that moment.  Thank you so much to Jude for including me on this wonderful journey.

{Living in the Moment...June}

Lisa and I went to D.C. a while back.  It was so much fun.  I have so much more to share but for this month's Living in the Moment post I wanted to share my try at "street photography".  Some of these are ehhhhhh and some of them really impress me.

Sites like the FB pages Humans of New York and Portraits of Boston are inspiring to me because it's something I could never do.  I could never go up to a stranger, have a conversation with them and then ask to take their picture.  I'm so very shy.

Most of these were take from the trolley or the car.  All of them were taken with my stalker lens so that none of these people knew I was taking their picture.  Someday I hope to visit the city and do more street photography.  It really moves me.

We saw quite a few homeless people sleeping in the city.  We even saw a woman dying her hair in Freedom Plaza.  During our trolley tour we had to take a detour due to traffic and our guide told us that the shelter we past was the largest in the country.




That sweat stain, yuck.














I know this is grainy and gross but Lisa and I came out of a hotel after drinks and there were multiple couples in Freedom Plaza doing the tango.  It was by far one of the coolest things I've ever seen.  I looked it up and something came up on Yelp for it saying it was free classes.


It was Pride week while were there.  I wish I could have gotten a better shot of her but I love that I got the guy taking their picture in there.


He is just too cool for words....


I loved her suit.  It was just so awesome in all the black and grey.






I adore this man peeking out of his flower shop.








I think these last two are my favorites.  They look like they could be camera ads.  These were taken at the Lincoln memorial.

{Living in the Moment...May}

This has been a crazy month to say the least.  So much has happened.  The month has both flown by and dragged along at the same time.  It felt like I didn't pick up my camera much.  But we did make it out for some sunshine today.

With everything that has been going on, I wasn't sure I was going to make this month's post.  I'm glad I was able to throw something together.  Even if it was last minute.  This month has taught me to really appreciate these little moments.  These everyday happinesses.  They rock.  And they keep us whole.  xoxo
